Differing color and structure as well as quarzite inclusions are allowed and are no reason for claim. Some stones can have colorings differing from the main color tone of the material. Due to high iron content, in individual cases there can be stains caused by corrosion like rust-colored spots / stripes and/or bloomings.
Due to high quarzite content there can be e.g. white or yellow discolorings and bloomings. Some natural stones can bleach out. The above mentioned charactics are natural properties of the stones and are no deficiency of the stone. Please note: pretreatment on all sides / impregnation can genereally be helpful as preventive measures.
Furthermore there can be changes in the surface condition, especially in noble products due to processing of the surface. Hairline cracks, small holes or shedding of thin layers are material-specific / a natural result of the surface processing. That is no defect.
Information about installation: We recommend lying slabs (natural or sawn) always with a gap. Furthermore it is recommended to mix material from different pallets / crates to create an equal color play.
Do not use any calcareous substructure. Avoid waterlogging as it can cause discoloration or stains. Generally please follow the DIN standard for lying of slabs. We are not responsible for defects or faults caused by incorrect handling. Our products are in accordance with the concerned DIN standards for natural stone (min. class 1).
Specific properties, which can generally occur with every natural stone, but which already were found in the stone varieties mentioned:
Because of the high quartzite content, "Aravalli Quarzit Rosé" can have white to yellowish spots on the surface. This is a natural property of the stone and does not represent a defect. In order to avoid any discoloring stains, we recommend a pre-treatment with pore fillers as well as a subsequent impregnation in order to prevent a general coloration due to environmental influences.
Due to the high iron content in "Sky Grey" and "Lemon" as well as "Solid Lemon", rusty spots and / or efflorescence can occur in individual cases. These are the natural characteristics of the stones and do not represent a defect. To remedy the efflorescence, we recommend a treatment with rust remover and a all-round treatment with pore filler which prevents water absorption and avoids rusting.
“Kalahari Black”, as well as the limestones “Black Kadappa”, “Limestone” and “Caramel” can bleach out over time with environmental influences and sun exposure. However, an appropriate solvent-free, UV-resistant impregnation can be used to prevent this effect. We strongly recommend the use of an impregnation, since the bleaching of the stone is a natural property and cannot be claimed as a defect. (Treatment generally only with solvent-free products!)
The limestone “Caramel” is a conditionally frost-resistant limestone, we recommend the use of the floor slabs indoors.
In the case of refined products, in particular “Kerala Basalt” and “Tamil Nadu Black”, surface cracks can result in small holes in the surface as well as hair cracks. The detachment of thin surface layers (especially with refined surfaces) is material-type and can lead to a change in the surface optics / texture. These are natural characteristics of the stone or natural consequences of the surface treatment and are not a defect.
In the case of refined floor slabs with a "velvet finish", especially with “Kerala Basalt” and “Sand Dunes”, different surface finishes can occur due to the production, some areas have a different structure than the rest of the surface. Smaller grooves can also occur due to production. The same can happen in "Attika Grey", due to high Quarzite content some areas in the surface can be less affected by flaming & brushing than the rest.
